NEALT EC: Rules for organizing NODALIDA conferences

It was decided in the NODALIDA-2007 conference in Tartu that in future, the NODALIDA conferences will be arranged by the NEALT. The principles according to which NODALIDA conferences will be arranged in future, were discussed by the Executive Committee in 29-31 May 2007 and agreed upon in the following form:

  1. The NEALT executive committee appoints:
    1. the host institution (including a local chair),
    2. the chair of the program committee. (It is up to the local chair and the program chair to appoint their committees and to determine the exact division of labor between the two committees.)
  2. The host institution alone has full financial responsibility for the conference and must therefore be allowed to set the conference fees so that all their costs are covered (but without making a profit), while satisfying the following constraints:
    1. There should be a single conference fee covering also participation in workshops and tutorial.
    2. The fee should include
      • electronic conference proceedings,
      • a reception (on the evening before the main conference),
      • a dinner (on the evening of the first conference day),
      • coffee/tea during breaks on all three days.
    3. The fee should be kept as low as possible in order to allow wide participation.
