The Nordic Treebank Network was a network where academic institutions from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden took part.
The network had its own homepage with information about network activities and projects. Members of The Nordic Treebank Network also developed The Sofie Treebank, a parallel treebank that at completion will consist of material from nine North European languages; Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, German, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish. The text material of the treebank is taken from the Norwegian original and the translations of the first two chapters of Jostein Gaarder's novel Sofies verden.
A workshop in Treebanks for spoken language and discourse was arranged in Joensuu, Finland, Thursday 19. May 2005.
